SISKA is offering a Paddle Canada Level 1 course May 19 and 20. 

Any SISKA member with a previous Paddle Canada Introduction to Kayaking
course or the equivalent plus time on the water is eligible.

 Once again, SISKA and Oak Bay Sea Rescue will be carrying out a joint training exercise to allow kayakers to see what is involved in a rescue and to give Oak Bay Sea Rescue volunteers more practice in finding and retrieving kayakers.

 "Landing on Ecological Reserves is restricted to protect sensitive plants and ecosystems. Permission to land is required.”  (See maps of Trial Island & Oak Bay Islands Ecological Reserves).  Marine Law states that in an emergency one can land anywhere!
